A Few Tips for Parents: Making the Most of These Channels
- Watch Together: Take out some time, sit with your kids and watch a few episodes with them. This will give you a clear picture about the channel that they are teaching. Also, it helps to establish a bond and give some time to mingle with your child.
- Discuss the Lessons: After watching, or while watching the video, ask your child the questions. In fact, engage in a healthy discussion like what it was about, what did they learn, or how they can apply this in daily life. Don’t reinforce the questions as if they’re sitting in the exam hall! Keep a discussion light-hearted and friendly. Also, it is not mandatory to do this practice every time, but make a habit to have constructive discussion with your kids.
- Create Routine: Try to take it to the extra mile by making these shows a part of your family routine. Like a post-lunch or post-dinner viewing session, or a weekend treat.
- Balance Screen Time: Given the fact that these channels are great, you still need to balance the screen time with other activities like indoor or outdoor playing, book reading, physical activities, coloring, painting, playing board games, role-play or anything that keeps a child engaged without screen.
