Celebrate and Cherish Your Dreams: A Journey of Self-Belief and Growth

Today, I am going to start my blog with a tagline:

Never Let Your Dreams Go…

Yes, the topic we are going to discuss today is how important it is to cherish your dreams, to nurture your vision, the importance of self-belief, and how you cherish and celebrate your dreams. Today, I will be sharing my very own theory regarding that.

Since childhood, we all have had so many dreams about different things. For some, it would be the profession of becoming a doctor, engineer, pilot, or a teacher. While others may aim to excel in the sports domain, some might see themselves being in a higher position to do something for mankind.

Speaking of dreams, little girls might have dreamt of getting a big dollhouse, LOL dolls set, or having their very own personalized girly room.

When the journey of life begins, our vision changes, goals change, and priorities change. Each chapter of life brings up more challenges, new goal-setting criteria, and new strategies.

Stepping into motherhood was a huge change altogether. Since childhood, I had a dream of becoming a teacher, though I got inclined towards computer science and ended up becoming a Software Developer. But the passion for teaching remained inside me.

Deep down, I used to admire artwork, especially when my mom used to make some really cool art projects for me. When I grew up, I used to make beautiful glass paintings, DIY projects, home decors… but somewhere, I wanted to get those canvases and fill them up with the colors of my thoughts.

Turning Dreams into Reality – The Unusual Turn in My Life

In 2020, when I lost my mother, there was a huge vacuum in my life. Nothing seemed appealing; I was at my lowest point at that time. So, what did I do? I started my own website, mommytutors.com. I planned my website to have free printable worksheets for download, write blogs for mommies and kids, and share all the essentials for parenting and kids’ learning curves, which I experienced with my firstborn.

The existence of mommytutors.com is more of a tribute to my mom. I am here today just because of her unconditional love, care, and support.  And saying that, “See, Mom, I am capable of delivering so much to people out there and helping them by sharing my very own experiences related to kids, education, and parenting.”

So, there was one tick on the list of my dreams that I fulfilled.

Besides that, there was an artistic voice that kept on lingering with me for quite a long time. And finally, in 2021, I started my artwork. Oh my God! It was such a delightful experience to live in the reality which I had been dreaming of for so long.

I made some really cool wall paintings; some of them are still lighting up my walls, while some friends have them framed at their places, and so on. Unfortunately, due to my busy schedule, I discontinued it. I took a break, and it was quite a long break! I stopped taking freelance work and totally mom-zoned myself.

After so many years, I buckled up and started pursuing my interest again in artwork.

I founded my page on Instagram, Canvas By Alafia, where I put up images of my artwork. And this time, they’re more refined and trendy as well.

I am quite happy and content that I got a chance to fulfill my dreams.

Why Dreams Matter?

In my opinion, everyone should have some goal, some dream, to achieve something. It could be anything, no matter how big or small. These are the dreams that serve as a driving force and motivate us to wake up every morning with some hope—to bring out the best version of ourselves.

A person should never stop dreaming and never lose hope.

Mindset for Achieving Dreams

To be honest, there’s no algorithm for having a specific mindset for achieving dreams. At least, after having a mommy brain, it was quite difficult for me to sort out things the way I wanted.

However, one should have a positive mindset, and I believe smaller steps should be taken on the way towards achieving dreams—one at a time. And eventually, you’ll find your way…

Final Words: What No One Tells You?!

Being a mother, it is too difficult and tiring to be consistent and pursue your dream. But believe me, if you want, you can do it! For me, artwork is my therapy, and I enjoy it. Similarly, I love writing; it is my therapy.

It’s not necessary that your dreams must speak louder on social media, or that everyone around you should know. Rather, your dream is what makes you happier from the inside, in the things where you seek happiness and contentment.

Like someone dreams of having a chill life—no extra chores, no engagements, just traveling, eating good food, and getting good sleep—yeah! That’s fine too! You just need to cherish them and celebrate them, and make yourself happy. If you’re happy from the inside, you will have lots of happiness to spread in the world and to the people around you!

Always celebrate your dreams, work on different strategies to pursue them, and turn into the reality that you can cherish forever!
